Are you interested in becoming the next MMM teacher?
On your way to becoming a professionally trained handpan teacher, you will go through different modules and learn a variety of skills. It is important to us to create a landscape of handpan teachers that uses a high-quality and well-founded method to competently accompany its students on their handpan journey.
In addition to teaching skills, we believe that a high level of empathy and expertise are fundamental qualities that a teacher should bring in order to provide a joyful and effective learning experience for their students.
Of course, a teacher should be able to lead by example, which is why in module I and II we place particular emphasis on helping you as a handpan player to find your expression and professionalism.
This means that the first 6 to 9 months are mainly used to develop your handpan skills and deepen your technical understanding of the instrument.
We then embark on a journey to turn you from a casual handpan player into a professional musician and then a qualified handpan teacher.

How can you become certified?

Your journey to become a certified Malte Marten Handpan Teacher starts with our comprehensive Module I. This module not only includes the Handpan Fundamentals Course, providing a strong foundation of skills and knowledge for handpan musicians, but also offers a Teacher Training Video Course that guides you through effective teaching methods, drawing from Malte Marten's years of practical experience.
As a musician and teacher, you might wonder, "How can I be heard, and how do I attract students?" Our dedicated Marketing Course is designed to answer these questions, offering valuable insights into recording, video creation, social media setup, and self-marketing.
You will also get the opportunity to participate in a virtual retreat (open level), a virtual first touch handpan workshop, as well as a variety of 1:1 sessions, all guided by Malte Marten himself. This will provide you with deep insights into the MMM approach as you observe Malte's teachings in real time.
Additionally, gain access to a valuable collection of scripts for immediate teaching, featuring 20 prepared 1:1 lessons and four engaging group workshop concepts to immediately start teaching. -
Upon finishing the first two modules, you'll receive an invitation to participate in Module Il - a seven-day Handpan Teacher Retreat. Here, you will receive expert instruction on all aspects of the method, with a strong emphasis on teaching patiently and professionally.
This week might be as transformative for your handpan playing and teaching as for your personal path. In addition to daily handpan workshops on various topics, this retreat includes various impulses that have helped me personally to gain deeper access to myself and the handpan.
The retreat is rounded off with a teaching test and the awarding of a certificate as a trained “Malte Marten Method Handpan Teacher”.

Upon successfully passing all components and the evaluation, you will be certified as a Level 1 Malte Marten Handpan Teacher. The certification includes 1:1 handpan sessions as well as group lessons, such as retreats and workshops.
Be one of the first teachers ever, passing on the Malte Marten Method and benefit from the outstanding reputation of Malte Marten. In the first year this teacher training is limited to 100 people.
